In this three-part series, three inspirational women share their letters to their younger selves, about self esteem, worry and love. This is advice that they wish they could have shared with themselves and now they share it with you. To start the series, we’ve pulled out all the stops. Antonia O’Brien shares with us her letter to her younger self.

Antonia O’Brien is a stylist, fashion host and presenter, and is truly inspirational. A force to be reckoned with, Antonia has presented events such as The Clothes Show, Stylist Live and the BAFTA red carpet. These are but a few of her many many achievements, and now we can bathe in her wisdom:

Dear Antonia,

I hope you’re well! Sorry I haven’t written before, I think it’s a mix of being scared and not knowing what to say; I do now. If I could give you one piece of advice (don’t roll your eyes!) it would be that the point of power is now, and you can and must strive for bigger and better things every day. Have you ever thought of it like that? That every day is a new start, and what you did yesterday, last week or two years ago doesn’t matter because you have no control over it. Be kind to yourself, like you are to your closest friends. Be you because you can’t be anyone else, someone gave me some sound advice recently that struck a chord ‘just do you.’ You are lucky in more ways than you know, and you will learn to be grateful, it is so important to be grateful for your family, your friends and the love that is all around you. Don’t fret, don’t be frightened of the future and remember what Mumma said ‘dare to be more than you dare to be.’ You’re going to be fine, in fact you’ll be better than fine, you’ll be happy.

Look after yourself.

Love A x
